Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a Complex Liability Adjuster to manage litigated CGL and BOP claims from initial investigation through resolution. The role focuses on complex liability exposures across tow yards, vehicle storage, automotive operations, and premises liability.

You will collaborate with defense counsel and vendors, review policy coverage, develop resolution plans, and negotiate settlements to drive timely outcomes. Hybrid work schedule available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years insurance industry experience with hands-on CGL claims handling.
• 5+ years managing litigated and in-suit CGL and BOP claims.
• Experience with complex liability exposures and related claims.
• Strong understanding of litigation management and negotiation strategies.
• Licensing: active adjuster license or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigated and in-suit claims with defense counsel and experts.
• Review policy language to determine coverage, liability, damages, and strategy.
• Develop claim resolution plans for timely, cost-effective outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and involved parties.
• Maintain accurate documentation per regulatory and company standards.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and stakeholders.
