Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to support installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Linux-based systems for the 616th Operations Center. This onsite role is located in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities include managing Linux servers, automating tasks with Ansible, applying security patches, hardening systems, and coordinating with VMware admins to support virtualization infrastructure. DoD IT practices and STIG/NIST familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required for access to sensitive DoD networks.
• 9+ years IT experience with Linux administration and support.
• Strong Linux (RHEL preferred) and system hardening knowledge.
• Experience with Ansible and automation to reduce manual workload.
• Familiarity with VMware Horizon/View and related virtualization concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Linux-based systems and servers.
• Install, configure, update, and harden Linux OS and software.
• Apply security patches and implement security measures.
• Collaborate with VMware admins to support virtualization infrastructure.
• Create Ansible scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Maintain system documentation and troubleshooting steps.
• Plan infrastructure projects like migrations and upgrades.
