Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure across on-prem and virtualized environments. This role supports a Geospatial Services & Solutions customer, with opportunities to advance automation and platform modernization.

You will work with Red Hat, Nutanix AHV, Prism Central, and other tools, contribute to observability dashboards, and ensure security and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux systems administration in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Nutanix HCI and AHV, Prism Central/Element.
• Proficiency with Ansible for automation and scripting (Bash/Python).
• Experience with Red Hat tools including Satellite/Capsule.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, storage, networking, and security.
• TS/SCI clearance and CI poly eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure.
• Manage Nutanix HCI, AHV, Prism Central/Element.
• Provision and manage VMs, storage, networking, and clusters.
• Develop automation with Ansible and scripting.
• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code for config, patching, deployment.
• Monitor and optimize Linux systems for performance and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document architectures.
