Job summary

Medtronic is seeking an experienced Linux/embedded software engineer to advance platform software for medical devices. You will work on Yocto-based Linux distributions, secure boot, GPU driver integration, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver secure, reliable platforms.

This role requires hands-on development, testing, and documentation, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and cross‑site teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience
• Experience configuring and customizing Linux
• Experience creating Yocto-based Linux distributions
• Hands-on experience with security principles and best practices, including secure boot, and software security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain platform software and build infrastructure.
• Create Yocto-based Linux distributions for varied hardware targets.
• Create CI/CD pipelines integrated with security and functionality automation tools.
• Support secure networking, secure boot, and OS update mechanisms.
• Maintain platform support for containerized applications using Docker.
• Collaborate with product teams to define platform capabilities.
• Develop and document various aspects of the platform as required for regulatory approval.
