BairesDev is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to optimize low-level systems and fine-tune the Linux kernel for massive-scale operations.

You will design performance characterization plans, develop observability tools with eBPF, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive architectural improvements and reliable deployments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Performance Engineering, Systems Engineering, or low-level Linux development.
• Proven expertise in Linux kernel tuning and deep understanding of kernel internals (I/O subsystems, memory management).
• Proficiency in C/C++ and working with eBPF for observability and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep-dive analysis of CPU, memory, and I/O subsystems to identify root causes of latency.
• Design and execute performance characterization plans for high-traffic distributed systems.
• Develop and use custom observability tools with eBPF to monitor system health in real-time.
• Optimize kernel parameters and process scheduling to maximize hardware utilization and throughput.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide architectural recommendations based on profiling data.
• Automate the validation of performance regressions within the deployment pipeline.
