Job summary

Bank of America in Canada is seeking a highly experienced Red Hat Linux Administrator to support a large-scale Hadoop ecosystem on RHEL 8.x/9.x. You will lead OS lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and automation to ensure high availability and performance across 1000+ servers.

You will design and implement infrastructure solutions, mentor teammates, and partner with CTI and other Tech teams to deliver resilient, secure systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Linux system administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x / 9.x and patching.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (Ansible, BladeLogic, Bash).
• Experience managing large-scale environments (1000+ servers preferred).
• Experience with Linux builds, provisioning, and filesystem management.
• Ability to work in remote / distributed team environments.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills OS lifecycle management tasks including software installations, kernel patching, system updates, and library management.
• Manage and maintain Linux file systems, ensuring performance, capacity, and integrity.
• Automate patching and remediation using BladeLogic, Ansible, and shell scripting.
• Develop automation solutions to optimize repetitive operational tasks and improve efficiency.
