Job summary

Samsung SDS America is seeking a Senior Linux Data Center Engineer in Plano, TX to design, implement, and optimize mission-critical infrastructure.

You will manage Linux and Windows systems, virtualization, GPU clusters, and container orchestration with Kubernetes. The role demands on-site work, strong scripting, and collaboration across teams to ensure performance, security, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Data center operations, Linux and Windows system administration (must-have).
• Virtualization technologies: VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V (must-have).
• Scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell (must-have).
• GPU clusters, Kubernetes orchestration, and container tooling.
• Enterprise storage/backup solutions such as NetApp and Veeam.
• Hands-on networking with Cisco routers/switches and VLANs, ACLs, NAT, VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize data center infrastructure across platforms.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Document standard operating procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate infrastructure with applications.
• Stay current with industry trends and recommend upgrades.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotation.
• Travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.
