Peraton is seeking a qualified candidate to join the DoS DSCM program, delivering Linux and cyber tools administration, patch management, and security-focused IT support across a global environment. Location is Beltsville, MD, with responsibilities spanning deployment automation, patching, and documentation.

Candidates should have a strong Linux background, Ansible skills, and a valid clearance. The role emphasizes hands‑on RHEL administration, Ansible playbook development, and DISA STIGs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Masters. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the bachelor's degree requirement.
• One of the following certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP, Security+ CE, CySA+, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev.
• RHEL 7, 8, 9 hands‑on administration, patching and deployment; RHEL 9 experience required.
• Ansible playbooks -- create and modify for automation.
• Red Hat Satellite experience managing distributed RHEL patching at scale.
• Bash scripting -- write basic-to-intermediate scripts.
• DISA STIGs / system hardening experience.
• SCAP tools familiarity for scanning and compliance validation.
• IDS tooling — basic updates or signature management.
• Process documentation skills.
• U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide Linux and cyber tools administration and Tier 2 support globally.
• Maintain Ansible playbooks for rapid deployment of updated containers.
• Maintain Satellite server for distributed RHEL patching.
• Develop and maintain process documentation regarding Linux administration and patching.
• Assist in updating IDS definitions.
