Placements24 seeks a seasoned Senior Systems Administrator to manage Linux servers and cloud infrastructure in a hybrid role based in London. You will oversee provisioning, security, backups, and performance tuning to support critical IT operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Linux system administration, strong scripting skills, and hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP. Collaboration with development and network teams will be key to success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT.
5+ years in systems administration focusing on Linux.
Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
Scripting skills in Bash/Python.
Understanding of networking and security.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including provisioning and monitoring.
Implement and manage system security measures (firewalls, IDS, access control).
Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery operations.
Monitor performance, troubleshoot and tune systems proactively.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
Automate tasks using Bash, Python, or similar tools.
Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, migrations.
Provide technical support for system-related issues.
Collaborate with development and network teams to ensure smooth operations.
