Job summary

Closure Technologies in Chantilly, VA is seeking a senior Linux administrator to plan, test, install, and maintain operating systems and upgraded versions across a large server estate for government‑related engagements.

You will build and harden Linux servers, apply patches on a timely basis, manage server hardware, develop test plans, and collaborate with application development and network teams to resolve OS issues while documenting configurations.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• Minimum of 10 years configuring and maintaining Linux servers.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or 10 years of related technical experience may substitute education.
• Experience with complex, intertwined systems and data flows.
• Experience creating and maintaining IT documentation.
• Experience with domain account management via Centrify, LDAP, and Active Directory.
• Experience applying security patches in a Linux environment.
• Strong shell scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, test, install, integrate, and maintain OS versions.
• Build and harden Linux servers and establish configuration baselines.
• Apply patches in a timely manner and support patch management plans.
• Develop test plans and procedures.
• Replace server hardware components as needed.
• Test and integrate software and hardware; manage OS lifecycles.
• Design environments for development, staging, and production.
• Troubleshoot OS issues and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
