Job summary

AlfaTech in Monrovia, CA seeks a Senior Lighting Designer to lead lighting design and documentation for commercial and institutional projects. You will develop concepts, perform calculations, prepare design reports, and present to clients.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience, strong CAD/REVIT skills, knowledge of lighting standards, and experience supervising junior designers on site. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience designing lighting systems for commercial, hospital, and institutional facilities.
• Solid knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bluebeam Revu, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead lighting design and documentation to complete project deliverables.
• Develop lighting concepts, perform calculations, evaluate fixtures, and prepare design reports.
• Prepare basis of design reports and client presentations.
• Produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.
• Oversee field installations, conduct site walkthroughs, and issue field reports.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
• Supervise Junior Lighting Designers and Lighting Interns.
• Track timelines and manage budget adherence.
