Job summary

Valley Metro RPTA seeks an experienced LRV maintenance technician to ensure operational performance and safety of light rail vehicle electrical, electronic and mechanical systems. This safety-sensitive role includes a drug and alcohol program and shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least three years in electro-mechanical maintenance, with strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and software update skills, and the ability to follow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with electrical/electronic diagnostics and repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to follow pre-employment requirements (background, medical, drug test).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair LRV electrical, electronic and mechanical systems.
• Identify parts and use diagnostic equipment; maintain repair logs.
• Update operating software to ensure proper LRV function and performance.
• Assist with emergencies and recover LRVs as needed.
• Cross-train with other technicians and maintain safety standards.
