Job summary

COUNTRY Financial is looking for an experienced Life Underwriter in Bloomington, IL to analyze applications and assign risk classifications within corporate underwriting guidelines.

You will review medical, occupational, financial and lifestyle information to determine data needs and proper risk class; may approve, modify or decline applications for life, disability and long-term care insurance, and guide representatives on requirements. Eligibility for incentive plan included.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant underwriting experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes life insurance applications written by financial representatives and assigns proper risk classifications within underwriting guidelines.
• Reviews information about proposed insureds’ medical, occupational, financial, avocational and lifestyle factors to determine if more information is needed.
• Approves, modifies or declines new life, disability and long-term care insurance applications and reinstatements; communicates requirements to place applications in favorable risk classifications.
