Job summary

The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead construction activities on complex life sciences, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and advanced manufacturing projects. You will ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and project teams from preconstruction through startup and closeout.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in technical construction, strong leadership, and the ability to read drawings, manage schedules, and drive project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent construction experience.
• 5+ years of construction/project delivery experience.
• Experience in life sciences, pharma, or highly technical projects.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
• Knowledge of startup, commissioning, turnover, or qualification processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across trades and scopes.
• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to meet milestones and quality.
• Manage activities in regulated life sciences environments.
• Maintain a strong site safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Monitor schedule, manpower, quality, and field execution.
• Coordinate startup, commissioning, and turnover activities when required.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
