Job summary

Transamerica, headquartered in the United States, is seeking an attorney to join a four‑person team focusing on Life Insurance and Supplemental Health lines. You will provide strategic legal guidance, draft and negotiate contracts, and support regulatory compliance for the organization.

The role offers hybrid work options and collaboration across Compliance and Business units to drive risk‑aware product development and governance. A JD and bar admission plus five years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.
• Bar admission in good standing in any US jurisdiction.
• Five years of experience at a sophisticated law firm or in-house counsel with insurance regulatory focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support for life insurance products and services, including term, universal, whole life and related products.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements for marketing, distribution, administration and vendor relationships.
• Counsel on agent appointments, licensing, illustrations, international business and estate matters.
• Advise on legal risks and regulatory impacts of business decisions and customer concerns.
• Monitor insurance regulations and collaborate with compliance to mitigate risk.
• Draft regulatory responses and disclosures for senior leadership review.
