Job summary

Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard in Providence, RI is seeking an Assisted Living Activity Assistant for a full-time 1st shift, weekends and holidays as scheduled. Salary ranges from $16.50 to $18.00 per hour with benefits including 401K and health, dental and vision insurance.

You will develop and lead engaging programs for residents, coordinate group and individual activities, support transportation needs, and maintain confidentiality while delivering compassionate, resident-centered

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues preferred.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community
• Shows an ability to relate to and perform job functions for the elderly in a positive and efficient manner
• Shows a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks, demonstrates a positive attitude, and works well under pres

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and implementation of an innovative daily program for residents
• Leads and implements one-on-ones, small group and large group activities according to the programming schedule
• Supports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups
• Supports the resident's abilities by understanding that all aspects of care can be viewed as an activity
• Demonstrates knowledge about residents in regard to background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity and attention span capability
• Communicates any changes in the residents' condition or behavior pattern to Life Enrichment Director
• Assist in the Planning, developing, organizing, and implementation of all residence activities.
• Develop suggestions and ideas for improving and expanding the Activities Program.
• Maintains a professional, warm and caring relationship with residents and families.
• Assist in arranging transportation and escorts for residents to and from outside and community activities.
• Assist with monthly newsletter and/or weekly calendar.
• Attend required on-going in-service training sessions and orientation.
• Driving residents in van as needed.
• Arrange Doctor visits as needed
• Perform dual tasks and work independently.
