Job summary

Securian Financial is seeking a Senior Consultant to apply accounting expertise across Individual Life and Individual Annuity products. You will interpret statutory, GAAP, and Bermuda requirements, lead financial reporting across multiple entities, and develop policies for new products and reinsurance structures.

You will partner with finance, actuarial, risk, audit, and technology teams to strengthen controls, drive governance, and deliver insights to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 7+ years experience in reinsurance and/or product, insurance, financial reporting accounting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex accounting issues independently.
• Experience leading projects and influencing outcomes without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for life, annuity, and reinsurance products.
• Interpret statutory, GAAP, and Bermuda accounting requirements.
• Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities and bases.
• Develop accounting policies for new products and transactions.
• Provide technical direction to accountants, actuaries and others.
