We are seeking a Senior Licensed PE Roadway Engineer with 8 to 15 years of experience specializing in traffic control design, signals, signing, and pavement marking design for PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects. This role is an exciting opportunity to grow into a leadership position following the retirement of a 35-year senior traffic engineer. The ideal candidate will be a strong technical leader, overseeing project delivery while mentoring and developing 0–5 year EIT staff.
Lead and manage traffic control design, signal design, signing, and pavement marking design for PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects.
Develop and review traffic control plans, temporary and permanent signage layouts, pavement marking plans, and signal system designs to meet state and federal standards.
Ensure all designs comply with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards.
Collaborate with internal roadway and traffic engineering teams to develop comprehensive transportation solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to EITs (0–5 years) to support their career development.
Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and technical oversight across multiple projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain through reciprocity).
8–15 years of roadway and traffic engineering experience, with a strong background in PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects.
Proficiency in traffic engineering and roadway design software, such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro, and Highway Capacity Software (HCS).
Experience in preparing Traffic Control Plans, Signal Designs, Signing & Pavement Marking Plans.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Passion for mentorship and staff development, with an ability to guide early-career engineers.
