Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a Senior Liability Adjuster to manage a caseload of high‑exposure CGL and BOP claims, including large‑loss matters with courtroom exposure. The role offers a hybrid schedule, no weekends, and a pathway to leadership within a nationwide team.

You will analyze coverage, negotiate settlements, direct defense counsel, and establish reserves while traveling occasionally for mediations and trials.

Formación

• 10+ years of experience adjusting CGL and BOP liability claims or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree; active attorney license is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage analysis and policy interpretation.
• Experience evaluating contracts, priority of coverage, and risk transfer opportunities.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage a complex claims caseload.
• Ability to travel occasionally for mediations, hearings, trials, and conferences.
• Licensing requirement: active adjuster license or ability to obtain and maintain licenses.

Responsibilities

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is hiring a Senior Liability Adjuster to manage a caseload of approximately 80-115 commercial general liability claims, including large-loss, highly litigated matters with exposures up to and exceeding policy limits.

In This Role, You'll

• Own a caseload of complex high-exposure CGL claims
• Manage litigated, large-loss, catastrophic matters
• Analyze coverage, liability, contracts, and risk transfer
• Develop resolution strategies and negotiate settlements
• Direct defense counsel and collaborate on litigation strategy
• Evaluate evidence and claim documentation
• Establish appropriate reserves and process settlements

Qualifications

• 10+ years of prior experience adjusting CGL and BOP liability claims or equivalent experience
• Bachelor's degree, active attorney license is a plus
• Advanced knowledge of coverage analysis and policy interpretation
• Experience evaluating contracts, priority of coverage, and risk transfer opportunities
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage a complex claims caseload
• Ability to travel occasionally for mediations, hearings, trials, and conferences
• Licensing Requirement: Candidates must hold an active adjuster license or be willing and able to obtain and maintain all required state licenses. The company will support the licensing process, including training and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements.

Salary $100,000 - $150,000 +bonus

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good ‐faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law. This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including: New York, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes‑Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; and Scottsdale, AZ.
