Responsibilities




Overall Assignment Description:
Senior-level MS&A Engineers lead the development and execution of modeling, simulation, and analytical efforts in support of mission stakeholders, analysts, and warfighters. This role plays a critical part in defining and analyzing system and data requirements that enable the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to deliver timely, accurate, and mission-relevant GEOINT products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the design, development, and application of advanced models, simulations, tools, and algorithms to uncover patterns, trends, and insights from large-scale data (Big Data).

  • Provide strategic guidance in modeling NGA architectures, system requirements, and performance metrics, while aligning with NSG strategies and the future vision for GEOINT capabilities.

  • Direct the creation and use of models that support performance analyses, design trade-offs, alternative evaluations, and capability assessments within existing NSG and cloud-based environments.

  • Mentor and oversee Mid- and Junior-level MS&A Engineers, providing technical direction and quality assurance across projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related STEM field, or related equivalent additional experience of 4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree.
  • Experience and Technical Skills:
    • 12+ years of experience modeling complex System-of-Systems (SoS) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments across cloud, on-premise, or hybrid infrastructures.

    • Knowledge of tool development and usage in cloud-based environments.

    • Hands-on programming or scientific computing experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, R, C++, or MATLAB.

    • Practical experience with NGA/NRO joint integration activities.

    • Working knowledge of NGA Infrastructure and Program Office (IPO) environments.

    • Acitve TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully pass a polygraph.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced Education:
    Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or related STEM discipline.

  • Advanced Skills and Experience:

    • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts, tools, and languages.

    • Experience with machine learning applications and techniques.

    • Senior-level experience in Operations Research methodologies.

    • Demonstrated MS&A experience for solutions utilizing:

      • Cloud-based technologies

      • Structured and unstructured Big Data

      • Automation, augmentation, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies

Target Salary Range




$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
