Job description

Disruptive Games is an independent studio with a proven track record in crafting top-tier online and multiplayer games. We're currently working on our own original IP, and we're looking for a Senior Level Designer to help bring it to life.

This is a fully remote role with full benefits and we are open to candidates across time zones.

What You'll Do

• Champion a cohesive level design vision that upholds the game's pillars
• Work with production to help build pipelines and schedules for level development
• Use Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprints to design, prototype, and polish game worlds
• Work with other departments to integrate their content into the level design pipeline
• Mentor teammates, document best practices, and elevate the studio's level design craft
• Collaborate across disciplines and contribute constructive feedback

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of professional video game industry experience
• A portfolio showcasing your level design work
• Sharp visual instincts and a knack for building spaces that serve both gameplay flow and storytelling
• Deep hands-on experience building and iterating gameplay in Unreal Engine
• Strong technical expertise in Unreal Blueprints and / or other scripting languages
• Experience as a Senior Level Designer on at least one shipped title (PC and Console)
• Strong understanding of development pipelines and cross-discipline workflows
• Self-motivated and able to independently drive features to completion
• Able to give critical feedback while fostering a safe, creative environment
• Experience with systemic level design or creating spaces that support emergent gameplay and player agency

Bonus Points

• Shipped at least 1 game with online features
• Experience with vehicle gameplay
• Experience with outsourcing vendors and co-development studios
• Expertise in more than one design specialization field (e.g. AI, camera, characters, combat, 1st or 3rd person shooters, levels, open world, racing, roguelike, RPGs, simulation, systems, etc)
