We’re hiring a mid-to senior-level Air Quality Scientist/Engineer. In this role, you’ll work directly with founding team members on diverse projects while helping to shape our growing practice from the ground up. Responsibilities

As a project/senior professional at Ensolum, your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, and they will typically include:

  • Prepare and oversee air quality permit applications, including NSR and Title V permits while interfacing with state and federal regulatory agencies throughout the process
  • Conduct regulatory applicability analyses for federal, state, and local air quality requirements, ensuring to keep up with new regulatory developments and their impacts to our clients
  • Manage air quality compliance programs and assist clients with operational and reporting requirements
  • Develop emission inventories for permitting, annual compliance reporting, and greenhouse gas reporting
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Provide quality control oversight for project deliverables and junior staff work
  • Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules
Qualifications

We’re always looking for people who are self-motivated, learning-oriented, and client-centric. And to be considered for this role at Ensolum, you’ll also need a few more qualification requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Atmospheric Sciences or related field
  • 5+ years of hands‑on air quality experience with demonstrated progression
  • 3+ years of experience in Colorado air permitting and compliance reporting, preference for oil and gas
  • Strong familiarity with Clean Air Act Programs (NSPS OOOOb, KKKK, JJJJ, NESHAP, NSR, Title V) and state regulations (CDPHE, NMED, TCEQ)
  • Experience with emissions calculation software (ProMax, GRI Gly-Calc, etc.)
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Able to pass drug & alcohol screening and background check

It would be great if you also have:

  • Strong knowledge of GHG and ONGAIER reporting
  • Proficiency with air dispersion modeling software (AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF)
  • Project management experience with ability to manage budgets and timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
