Job summary

State of Washington Dept. of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and the Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA) seek a Legislative and Policy Analyst. You will analyze legislation, coordinate analyses during sessions, and track hearings to inform policy and program decisions.

You will work with senior leadership to respond to legislators, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure timely provision of policy guidance and expertise across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in political science, public administration, business administration, social work, health or social science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis to support informed policy and program development.
• Provides advanced-level policy analysis, technical assistance and subject matter expertise to DSHS, HCLA staff, and business partners.
• Coordinate meetings with legislative bill sponsors, stakeholders, and tribes to garner support for department legislative requests.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to the Assistant Secretary and executive management.
• Coordinate HCLA responses to legislative partners.
