Job summary

The Office of the Governor in Austin seeks a Legislative Coordinator (Program Specialist VI) to manage pending legislation and provide technical guidance within the Legislative Affairs Division.

The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of the legislative process, plus 5 years of professional experience, and familiarity with the Texas Legislature. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; veterans and active duty are considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of professional experience relevant to the position.
• Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, tracks, and analyzes pending legislation and amendments.
• Drafts bill analyses on pending legislation and enrolled bill analyses memoranda.
• Develops, schedules, and conducts training for staff.
