About the Applied Science Team at Relativity
Relativity invests heavily in developing new AI products and features. Our AI team includes data engineers, ML operations specialists, LLM engineers, product teams, and applied scientists.
The applied science team is central to our AI development, composed of experts with advanced postgraduate training and extensive experience managing impactful models at large scales.
About the Senior Legal Data Intelligence Lead Role
This role is the applied science team's key industry expert in legal data intelligence. Reporting to the head of Applied Science, you will apply your litigation and discovery expertise to evaluate our generative AI capabilities. You will interface with litigators to explain our technology, gather feedback, and relay insights to our team, ensuring our solutions meet legal needs effectively.
Job Description and Requirements
- Work externally with clients and industry to explain how our generative AI systems work and gather feedback on their performance in document analysis, classification, information protection, and knowledge extraction.
- Collaborate internally with applied scientists, product managers, designers, engineers, and customer enablement teams to provide feedback on AI solutions' performance, usability, and functionality.
- Contribute to the applied science strategy by leveraging your expertise to design, build, and improve tests, benchmarks, and evaluation systems for our generative AI solutions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate and 5 years of experience practicing law as a litigator or similar experience in legal services or legal tech.
- Hands-on experience with Relativity across diverse workflows, including traditional EDRM and broader legal data intelligence use cases.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
- Deep interest in using generative AI to responsibly advance legal practice and access to justice.
- Understanding of TAR, statistical validation, and advanced document review techniques.
Relativity offers competitive compensation, including base salary, performance bonuses, and long-term incentives. The salary range is $154,000 to $232,000, with the final offer based on experience, skills, and internal pay equity. Salary at the top end is uncommon, allowing room for growth.
