Job summary

The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit focused on preventing abuse in sport and enforcing Safe Sport standards. We seek a Senior Legal Counsel – Arbitrations to lead arbitration strategy, support investigations, and advise on complex disputes with a trauma-informed approach.

JD required, 5+ years of legal experience, and a license to practice in the United States. Denver-based, with potential travel and remote-work considerations as needed.

Qualifications

• Five years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong litigation and trial background, including first-chair experience.
• Significant experience handling arbitrations and/or trials.
• Exceptional legal writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Center’s primary attorney for arbitrations, including preparation, strategy, and presenting positions at hearings.
• Communicate with claimants and witnesses in arbitration prep while following trauma-informed practices.
• Collaborate with Deputy General Counsel on litigation matters and outside counsel usage.
• Provide legal guidance on Center governance and cross-functional initiatives.
• Identify applicable policies with R&R teams and ensure interim measures and sanctions are properly reviewed.
• Partner with paralegals to support arbitration and litigation processes.
