Job description

Review, research, and interpret non-standard operative provisions and contracts submitted by clients and external representatives. Manage full contract review, redline edit and negotiate with business partners and clients.

Lead negotiations with clients and recommend strategy, negotiate terms and conditions of complex contracts. Maintain working knowledge of funding methodologies, plan products, benefit packages, policies and procedures, contract requirements, and interpret information for internal partners and contracted clients.

Draft contracts and subcontracts, and amend and restructure existing agreements as required to meet both client and company requirements. Review, research, and draft amendments and renewal documents. Review, research, and interpret non-standard contract provisions and agreements; analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies.

Partner with attorneys on contractual matters and obligations to protect the organization's legal and business interests. Manage contract change control process and resolve contract issues that arise. Partner with Regulatory Compliance to gain understanding of evolving and changing regulations; forecast and prepare for workload impacts due to regulatory and legal changes to include revisions to templates.

Conduct legal research projects and draft legal documents for attorney review. Provide advice on contract administration and review processes as the subject matter expert (SME) for contract topics. Lead the development and/or revision of template agreements and participate in updates to Commercial Group, Health Plan, and Strategic Alliance template agreements.

Lead, manage, and guide Contract Management projects and team members to achieve department/line of business milestones and objectives.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Contract Management Certification preferred. Commercial and Health Plan contracting and/or other relevant expertise. 6+ years experience using negotiating skills in a professional business environment. 6+ years experience reviewing and analyzing contract documents, specifications, and procedures. Health plan, strategic alliance, governmental entities, and banking contract experience.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines; able to manage, edit, and proofread documents; detail-oriented. Proficient to advanced verbal and written communication skills with legal and non-legal professionals. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams applications. Ability to read and type for long periods throughout the day. Self-motivated and capable of regulating workflow in a remote environment with limited supervision.

Compensation and Benefits
