Job summary

Carolina PRG in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Lease Accountant to help build a best-in-class public-company lease accounting function under U.S. GAAP, ASC 842 and SOX. This hands-on role supports data validation, process testing and financial reporting while transitioning the lease system.

You will collaborate with Real Estate, Legal, Operations and FP&A to ensure accurate month-end close and audit-ready documentation in a hybrid work setting (3 days in office per week).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ICFR, and SOX compliance.
• Experience with lease accounting software or lease administration systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting for leases under ASC 842, including ROU assets and liabilities.
• Prepare monthly lease accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to identify lease events and ensure data integrity.
• Support SOX controls, documentation, and remediation activities.
• Assist with audit requests, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
