GitLab seeks a Senior Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to join our Digital Success team. You will leverage your instructional design and technical expertise to create engaging, outcome-driven learning experiences for our global customer base.

In this role, you’ll apply adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and technical knowledge to develop scalable, modular content that drives customer success. The ideal candidate has experience creating eLearning modules, videos, interactive labs, workshops, and certification materials. You should be passionate about learning and skilled at simplifying complex technical topics. You’ll help create high-impact learning experiences that deliver value at scale, empowering customers to become GitLab experts and brand champions.

What You’ll Do

• Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create effective training solutions.
• Design and develop educational content, including eLearning courses, presentations, labs, and assessments aligning with learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, curriculum developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with product updates and business goals.
• Partner with team members to design, develop, analyze, and maintain engaging learning experiences for virtual, self-paced delivery.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical systems and tools supporting scalable training programs.
• Assist in creating certification and exam content, including item writing and scoring rubrics.
• Iterate on content based on learner feedback, new features, and best practices.
• Stay informed on GitLab’s latest features to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years experience in enterprise customer-facing roles such as curriculum developer, instructional designer, technical trainer, or consulting engineer (preferably in SaaS).
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and theories.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, DevOps practices, and cloud-native tech (e.g., Kubernetes, containers, microservices).
• Proficiency with eLearning tools like Articulate Rise, Storyline, Captivate, Clueso, and Camtasia.
• Knowledge of LMS platforms and standards such as xAPI and SCORM.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Nice-to-have: Experience designing curricula for large enterprises, familiarity with open-source communities, relevant certifications, multimedia skills.
