About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Learning Architect to join our Curriculum team. Learning Architecture is the translation layer between clinical design and the actual learner experience. Our Clinical Programming team defines what goes into a session and why, writing the clinical rationale in Program Design Documents and High-Level Designs (HLDs) - your job is to take that HLD and turn it into a real learning experience: slides, workbooks, talk tracks, extension activities, and eventually video and e-learning content - all structured for engagement, scaffolded for skill acquisition, and designed for the developmental needs of the population in front of you.

This isn't just production work. You'll also help carry forward our modularization vision - building content as skill-aligned modules rather than one-off weekly decks, so our content can stand on its own and follow a client beyond a single session.

You'll split your time between two kinds of work: maintaining and improving our existing library of 50 curricula (prioritizing based on client feedback, facilitator input, and engagement data), and contributing to net-new program design and between-session content as we build out the modularization roadmap.

AI is a core part of how we work, not a side tool. We use it to build first-draft content, run quality checks, and speed up documentation - and our curriculum team has also used it to prototype product improvements directly. You'll be expected to use AI both to develop content more efficiently and to explore product-level improvements to how curriculum gets delivered.

Responsibilities

Curriculum & Content Development

• Translate HLDs and clinical source material into cohesive learning modules — slide decks, workbooks, talk tracks, and training packages
• Build content as skill-aligned modules, not standalone weekly decks, so assets can be reused, reassigned, and accessed independently of a single session
• Create professional, visually clear content that presents complex clinical concepts in a digestible format

Facilitator Support & Scripting

• Write comprehensive facilitator guides with talk tracks, timing cues, and transition notes to ensure consistent delivery across facilitators
• Embed clear instructions to help facilitators manage group dynamics and lead effective discussions

Learner Engagement Strategy

• Structure content to maximize participation - interactive discussion and peer-to-peer learning over passive delivery
• Design interactive elements (polls, breakout scenarios, reflection prompts) suited to a virtual, group‑therapy setting

Between-Session & Modularization Work

• Develop workbooks, extension activities, and other supplemental materials designed for use beyond the session
• Contribute to modularization initiatives (e.g., Skills Cards, in-platform workbooks) that let content follow a client across their full program

Curriculum Maintenance & Quality

• Own ongoing maintenance and iterative improvement of assigned curricula within our library of 50 programs
• Use client feedback, facilitator input, and engagement/satisfaction data to distinguish facilitator‑delivery issues from structural curriculum issues, and prioritize redesign work accordingly

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field
• Working knowledge of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory, and the ability to apply them practically to real content, not just describe them
• AI-native workflow: daily, fluent use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for first‑draft generation, editing, quality review, and documentation - with the judgment to know when AI output is usable as‑is versus where it needs meaningful revision
• Comfort working directly in a CMS (e.g., Contentful) to structure, link, and publish content, not just hand off finished decks for someone else to load
• Strong proficiency in Google Slides/PowerPoint plus document tooling, with the ability to build clean, reusable templates and components rather than one‑off decks
• Basic data literacy: ability to read engagement and satisfaction data (e.g., in Hex or similar dashboards) and use it to prioritize what gets revised
• Ability to adapt writing voice to our brand — warm, empathetic, and conversational rather than stiff or academic
• Sound instructional judgment — comfort making the call on when content is technically complete but not yet effective, and iterating accordingly

Preferred

• Experience prototyping beyond static slides — e.g., using AI‑assisted tools (like Claude Code) to build lightweight interactive or client‑facing content, not just written materials
• Familiarity with virtual training platforms and the challenges specific to remote instruction
• Basic scripting or no‑code/low‑code tool experience (e.g., light HTML/CSS, Zapier‑style automation) for building interactive elements or workflow efficiencies
• Exposure to clinical or therapeutic content (DBT, CBT, CFT, or similar frameworks) is a plus, though not required

Please note that members of this team who live within 75 minutes of a Charlie Health office are expected to adhere to a hybrid work schedule

Benefits

Charlie Health is pleased to offer comprehensive benefits to all full‑time, exempt employees.

The total target base compensation for this role will be between $79,000 and $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance‑based bonus. The target total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $87,000 and $110,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits.
