Job summary

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) is seeking an experienced General Manager, Meetings & Events to oversee banquet, catering, meetings, conferences, and cultural events from inquiry to post-event follow-up.

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, you will drive service excellence, sales, budgeting, and cross-department collaboration while representing IPCC’s unique Pueblo culture in a fast-paced hospitality setting in Albuquerque.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least five years of hospitality, meetings, conferences, banquets, catering, or events experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience managing staffing, scheduling, performance, revenue, expenses, and operations.
  • Experience in sales, business development, catering, meetings, conferences, banquets, or event management.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment screening including background and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Native American preference will be given where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Banquets, Meetings & Events operation with focus on service excellence, revenue growth, profitability, staffing, and performance.
  • Inspire, coach, and develop the team; foster teamwork and guest service.
  • Oversee events from inquiry to planning, execution, billing, and follow-up.
  • Develop event plans, contracts, BEOs, group resumes, and timelines.
  • Build relationships with planners, organizations, vendors, and partners.
  • Drive sales and business development to increase event revenue and market share.
  • Lead execution of executive meetings, conferences, banquets, receptions, and cultural events.
  • Collaborate with Sales, F&B, Culinary, Facilities, Finance, Marketing, Security, and other departments.
  • Maintain high service standards and monitor customer satisfaction and feedback.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, labor, purchasing, expenses, and profitability.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities and actions.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and labor deployment based on volumes.
  • Develop team capabilities through training in service, safety, and policies.
  • Provide visible leadership during events and resolve client concerns professionally.
