Job summary

Qnity is seeking a Senior Lead Technical & Policy Accountant to implement new accounting standards, ensure GAAP compliance, and lead policy development.

The role requires CPA, 6+ years of policy/technical accounting experience, and strong communication across finance teams. Hybrid work in Wilmington, DE with on-site presence 3+ days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• IFRS knowledge a plus.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in accounting policy or technical accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement new accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Serve as technical accounting resource for major business unit and corporate initiatives.
• Develop and implement accounting policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax, and other teams on policy matters and disclosures.
• Provide guidance on complex transactions including pensions, acquisitions, divestitures, leases, revenue recognition, and segment realignments.

Senior Lead Technical & Policy Accountant

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assist in leading the company’s implementation of new accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Serve as a technical accounting resource for major business unit and corporate initiatives.
• Identify and lead process improvement opportunities to enhance functional productivity.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure external financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP and internal management reporting is consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Serve as a key point of contact for technical accounting and disclosure matters, including SEC guidance and FASB standards.
• Coordinate implementation efforts for new accounting standards and participate in the review of proposed standards.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to business teams on complex transactions.
• Partner with global Controllership and independent public accountants on accounting policy matters.
• Support compliance with the company’s internal controls framework and address internal control matters with internal and external audit teams.
• Coordinate audit requests and compliance requirements with external auditors, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally with Consolidations, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Business Finance, Internal Audit, and other teams.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on areas such as pension accounting, acquisitions and divestitures, leases, revenue recognition, segment realignments, and other complex accounting and disclosure matters.

Qualification Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred.
• CPA required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, ideally including Big Four and/or industry experience in an accounting policy or technical accounting role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed, accountable, and able to work independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

This is a hybrid role based in Wilmington, DE and requires on-site presence 3+ days per week.
