Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join the Commercial and Investment bank Equities team. You will help build trusted, scalable technology products and lead critical initiatives in a fast-paced agile environment.

You will guide design, drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers worldwide, and contribute to improving operational stability while delivering high-impact loan management and trading interfaces.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced in Python and React.
• Experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and system integration.
• Education to degree level in computer science, mathematics or engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to business and global teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Lead greenfield initiatives to transform loan-related documentation storage using AI to uplift analytics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Trading, QR, Operations to deliver world-class loan management platforms.
• Contribute to re-engineering and re-architecting platforms for performance, availability, and scalability.
• Identify and implement solutions for recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Lead design and architecture discussions to leverage new technologies for complex business deliveries.
• Offer leadership and direction to team members globally to improve performance.
• Promote firmwide SDLC frameworks and practices across the engineering organization.

Job responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Spearhead the delivery of greenfield initiative to transform the storage and access of loan related legal documentation, using AI to uplift users analysis capabilities.
• Work with key stakeholders in Trading, QR, Operations and others globally to ensure the loan management platforms, both internally and client facing, deliver a world class experience.
• Able to directly contribute to the ongoing efforts to re-engineer & re-architect existing platforms to make them performant, highly available, stable, efficient, and scalable.
• Lead and contribute to the identification and implementation of solutions for recurring issues, with the aim of improving overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Lead design and architecture discussions to leverage new and emerging technologies, to solve complex business deliveries.
• Offer leadership, support, and clear direction to team members globally to enhance the overall team's performance.
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the SoftwareDevelopment Life Cycle

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Python and React
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages.
• Good overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, and advanced proficiency.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and system integration.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
• Education to degree level, ideally in a computer science, mathematical or engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experienced with Typescript.
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS.
• Experience with order management and trading user interfaces, with knowledge of Athena.
• Understanding of financial products, specifically equity based loans.
