Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own architecture and dependencies for the Dev Infrastructure group, partnering with CI/CD, Web Platform, Environments, and more. You’ll guide platform upgrades, improve developer productivity, and mentor engineers across the backend domain.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in software development, strong CS fundamentals, and experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, and IaC. A passion for AI tools and responsible usage is welcome.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in software development.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, domain-driven design, and architectural patterns.
• Experience with distributed systems and leadership capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Interest in AI tools and responsible experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy and roadmap for Klaviyo backend platform.
• Lead architecture and upgrades for platform and dependencies.
• Manage backend and third‑party dependencies for security and reliability.
• Oversee major software releases from design to production.
• Improve developer productivity and reduce toil across teams.
• Mentor engineers, especially senior/lead contributors.
• Diagnose performance, scalability, and reliability issues with monitoring.
