Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to drive secure, scalable technology products within Asset Management. You will lead agile teams, shape architecture, and mentor engineers across multiple technologies, including Java, Python, AWS, and AI-assisted tooling.

You will influence design decisions, implement robust REST APIs, and ensure operational stability. The role offers challenging, global impact with collaboration across teams and regions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java and Python
• Experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little oversight
• Practical cloud native experience – AWS
• Experience with Hibernate and Spring JPA coupled with database design (AWS Postgres) best practices

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, and contractors
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value at scale
• Drives decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Contributes to engineering community with firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
