Job summary

Shield AI in the United States is seeking a Senior Lead Operational Analyst to contribute to modeling, simulation, and analysis of aircraft systems. You will plan and execute analyses across components, systems, missions and campaigns to evaluate effectiveness, survivability, and operational impact.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and defense stakeholders to inform design trade-offs, develop CONOPS, and build reusable analysis pipelines using AFSIM, STK, MATLAB and Python.

Qualifications

• Background in operational analysis, modeling & simulation, or operations research.
• Experience working with defense or aerospace programs is preferred.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, own and execute operational analyses to assess autonomous system effectiveness in military scenarios.
• Develop and run modeling, simulation, and wargaming analyses to evaluate performance, mission impact, and survivability.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate findings into actionable system insights.
• Perform trade studies and sensitivity analyses across varying conditions and threats.
• Build and analyze mission-level models using tools like AFSIM, STK, MATLAB, Python.
• Engage with DoD stakeholders to understand missions and constraints.
• Develop CONOPS for AI-enabled aircraft capabilities.
