Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Senior Lead Operational Analyst to advance modeling, simulation, and analysis for autonomous aircraft. You will conduct analyses at multiple levels to assess effectiveness, survivability, and operational impact across domains.

You will work with engineering, product, and defense stakeholders to translate findings into actionable design insights, contribute to CONOPS, and support DoD engagements in contested environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or math.
• 9+ years of experience in operational analysis or related defense/aerospace roles.
• Active Secret clearance, or ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, own and execute operational analyses to assess autonomous systems in military scenarios.
• Develop and run modeling, simulation, and wargaming analyses to evaluate performance and survivability.
• Collaborate with engineering and product managers to translate findings into system insights.
• Conduct trade studies and sensitivity analyses across varying conditions and threats.
• Build and analyze mission-level models using AFSIM, STK, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
• Engage with DoD stakeholders to understand mission needs and constraints.
• Contribute to CONOPS development for AI-enabled aircraft capabilities.
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for internal teams and government stakeholders.
• Mentor incoming talent and promote reproducible analysis practices.
