Job summary

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center in Portsmouth, VA, is seeking a Senior Lead Residential Counselor to build therapeutic relationships with youth ages 7-17 and provide guidance and supervision during treatment.

Responsibilities include implementing programs to teach acceptable behaviors, supervising treatment goals, maintaining positive culture, coordinating documentation, and supporting unit staff. Weekend rotation with Senior Lead staff is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in residential or psychiatric settings preferred.

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE®-approved and certified facility.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
