Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer in Plano, TX to shape modern WAN solutions across enterprise environments. You will design, deploy, and maintain networks with Cisco/Arista hardware, while leveraging AI-assisted workflows to accelerate analysis and ensure security and resiliency.

The role requires deep hands-on expertise and a track record of cross-functional collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years applied experience in infrastructure engineering.
  • Expertise in routing and switching, BGP/OSPF, VXLAN, MPLS.
  • Hands-on network design and certification (CCIE/CCNP) preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted infrastructure workflows and validation.
  • Knowledge of on-premises and data center operations.
  • Experience with Hyper-V/ESXi/KVM/VMware/OpenShift.
  • Scripting in Python/JavaScript/yaml/Bash.

Responsibilities

  • Apply deep technical expertise to analyze complex data and systems and advise on mitigations.
  • Utilize enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and document mitigation options.
  • Design, deploy, and configure WAN network fabrics (Cisco, Arista) and related devices.
  • Guide modernization of Enterprise WAN following security standards.
  • Manage lifecycle of network infrastructure including docs and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues while considering dependencies.
  • Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001 and shared responsibility models.
  • Lead AI-assisted practices to improve delivery, validation, and auditability.

As a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector of the Infrastructure Platforms team, you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge regarding software, applications, and technical processes across multiple technical disciplines. You also have a specialization in a specific domain within infrastructure engineering to drive programs or initiatives consisting of multiple technologies and applications.

Job Responsibilities
  • Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, considering upstream and downstream implications, and advising on mitigation actions
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate analysis of complex infrastructure signals and documentation of mitigation options, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Plans, designs, deploys, and configures network solutions/fabrics for the Wide Area Network environment consisting of Cisco routers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Provides technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to the project to modernize the Enterprise WAN. Ensure network designs adhere to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Manages lifecycle of network infrastructure, including deployment packages, as-built documentation, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex network issues, considering upstream/downstream dependencies and advising on mitigation actions.
  • Ensures compliance with shared responsibility models, including physical infrastructure, connectivity, and facility-level standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
  • Responsible for infrastructure engineering in accordance with business requirements and executes work according to compliance standards, risk and security, and business objectives
  • Leads reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted practices across delivery and automation routines to reduce recurring issues, ensuring changes are validated, traceable and auditable, and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as: hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience or performance assessments
  • Hands on experience in Network Engineering and formal training or certification on technical and network design concepts (CCIE,CCNP etc.)
  • Exceptional skills in Networking Technologies- Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, Multi-protocol BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MPLS, RSVP-TE, IS-IS), working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, LB, FWL, Proxy) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6
  • Deep knowledge multiple infrastructure technologies and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, yaml, Json, Bash, etc.)
  • Knowledge of on-premises and remote Data Center technologies and operations
  • Strong experience in several OS and Hypervisor platforms (Hyper-V, ESXi, KVM, VMWARE, Open Shift)
  • Deep technical knowledge of Hardware Platforms Cisco ASR Class Routers and Arista
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Experience in CI/CD and tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet for automating configuration management and deployment processes
  • Working knowledge of 40/100/400G Ethernet and CWDM, DWDM and optical transport network technologies
  • Understanding of different Optics and internals of a switch ASIC
  • Working knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
  • Understanding of network hardware platforms and their specifications in the datacenter space
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
