Job summary

Capital One is actively seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to lead a portfolio of distributed microservices and full stack systems in Card Tech+. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and deliver cloud-based solutions enabling financial empowerment for millions of Americans.

You’ll work with JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, using Docker, Kubernetes, and multiple AWS services in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• 9+ years in at least one of: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
• 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
• 1+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in code reviews as needed.
• Collaborate with product managers and deliver cloud-based solutions for customers.
• Utilize JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go across cloud environments.
