As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial & Investment Bank in Markets Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve problems.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others.
• Lead team members through project management, improve team processes via SDLC, testing, and continuous coding standards improvement.
• Develop and deliver core systems using KDB, including framework development.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as KDB and Q Language.
• Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with expertise in areas like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile technologies.
• Extensive experience with KDB technology and Q language, including at least 2 years as a lead.
• Understanding of KDB+tick data design, data organization, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with large datasets, query performance optimization, and building resilient, high-availability KDB applications.
• Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems.
• Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience managing production environments using Terraform and Kubernetes in the public cloud.
• Proficiency in other programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or Java.
