Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Lead Electrical Engineering Manager to lead electrical design and project delivery from Boise, ID, to VA and AL. You will coordinate design reviews, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple concurrent projects in the Power Federal Programs Team.

The role requires a PE license, 15+ years of electrical engineering experience, and US citizenship. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related tools is essential.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer.

Responsibilities

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Lead Electrical Engineering Manager to work out of Boise, ID; Virginia Beach, VA; or Huntsville, AL. Be involved in projects with our Power Federal Programs Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
  • Coordinate, review and approve electrical design plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Successfully deliver design projects in design-bid-build, Design-Build, or Alternative Delivery frameworks.
  • Apply high-level electrical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various project phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.
  • Plan and incorporate future‑ready techniques, concept development, operating strategies, and various design requirements that account for the safety and functionality of end‑users, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of electrical systems.
  • Oversee and monitor cross‑functional teams of engineers to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, technical calculations, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
  • Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross‑sections, and other illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, concepts, and recommendations to address design, and/or construction issues or opportunities.
  • Manage client relationships and provide key technical input on pursuit efforts.
  • Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Due to client requirements, US citizenship is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Alternative Delivery projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the DOD industry with Experience with DOD criteria such as FC 1-300-9N, UFC 3-501-01, and UFC 3-550-01.
  • Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work‑related issues.
  • Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects.
  • Well‑defined specific knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements.
  • Well‑developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
  • Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, discipline‑specific design software (i.e., Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, SKM, ETAP, AGI 32, etc), technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing small to mega‑size projects.
  • Experience executing design build projects.
  • DBIA Certification.
  • Experience managing direct reports within the electrical engineering discipline.
  • Additional certifications such as LEED AP and PMP.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $168,900 - $232,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
