Job summary

SAP Fioneer in the United States is seeking a Senior/Lead Developer for Core Data Services to shape customer-facing portal solutions on SAP BTP. You will own technical architecture, drive end-to-end delivery, and mentor the team to build scalable, secure cloud applications.

The role combines hands-on development with architectural leadership, focusing on RAP/CAP, XSUAA-based security, and integrations via SAP BTP Integration Suite.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on software development experience on SAP BTP.
• Proven expertise with RAP and/or CAP for enterprise cloud apps.
• Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization concepts (XSUAA).
• Experience with AI solutions and agentic AI concepts is preferred.
• Ability to take ownership of architecture and lead delivery in agile teams.

About the Role

Join us in shaping the next generation of digital customer experiences in the financial services industry. As a Senior / Lead Developer for Core Data Services, you will drive technical architecture decisions, lead implementation activities on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), and help deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions in a highly collaborative environment.In this role, you will take end-to-end technical ownership for Core Data Services development within a large-scale customer portal transformation program. You will combine hands-on development with technical leadership, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring developers, and ensuring the successful delivery of SAP BTP-based solutions through to go-live.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Core Data Services for customer-facing portal applications on SAP BTP and SAP RISE, following Clean Core principles.
• Define and maintain technical and architecture concepts, support quality gates, and ensure alignment with project and enterprise architecture standards.
• Design and implement modular services using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), including integrations through the SAP BTP Integration Suite.
• Establish secure authentication and authorization concepts, including XSUAA, role management, and access control frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership to the development team through code reviews, mentoring, release governance, documentation, and deployment readiness activities.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on software development experience on SAP BTP, ideally within Clean Core transformation projects.
• Proven expertise with RAP and/or CAP and the development of enterprise-grade cloud applications.
• Strong knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security concepts on SAP BTP, including XSUAA and role-based access management.
• Practical experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, Agentic AI concepts, and Human-in-the- -Loop implementation approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of architecture and solution design, while leading delivery within agile development teams.
