Job summary

Pinterest is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Counsel for Employment Law to partner with the People Team and business leaders on complex employment matters. You will advise executives on workforce strategy, mobility, employee relations, and compliance, while managing disputes and external counsel relationships.

You will drive AI‑aligned legal processes, develop scalable policies, and ensure risk is balanced with business needs across a global workforce.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar admission, with a minimum of 10 years handling complex employment matters; CA or NY bar preferred.
• In‑house experience in a fast‑paced organization is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law and advising senior business and People leaders on high‑impact matters.
• Exceptional judgment and decision‑making, including handling ambiguity.
• Excellent communication and executive‑influence skills.
• Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong experience negotiating and managing employment litigation and outside counsel relations.
• AI‑forward mindset for applying AI in legal work.
• Impeccable integrity, discretion, resilience, and commitment to inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted senior advisor to executives and cross‑functional stakeholders on complex employment matters.
• Independently assess legal and business risks and provide decisive recommendations.
• Lead development and implementation of employment agreements, policies, and operating practices.
• Develop cross‑functional employment‑law initiatives, including compliance programs and trainings.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align priorities across workstreams.
• Manage significant disputes, litigation, and investigations; craft practical resolutions.
• Oversee outside counsel relationships and budgets.
• Monitor developments in employment law and translate into guidance and processes.
• Act as an AI‑forward legal partner to improve research, risk spotting and efficiency.
