The Role

As a Senior Lead Cloud Security Architect at Lumen, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architectures across commercial and Gov clouds in Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the security, confidentiality, and integrity of our systems, data, and services hosted on cloud platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security solutions that align with industry best practices and compliance standards.

This is a remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security architectures for solutions in public clouds.

  • Evaluate and recommend Web Application Firewall (WAF) services and security controls to protect cloud environments and API services.

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to integrate security controls into all phases of the software development lifecycle.

  • Evaluate and recommend security tools, technologies, and services to enhance the overall security posture of cloud-based applications and services.

  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud environments and API services.

  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure that security architectures and controls align with relevant regulatory and compliance standards.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the security and technology teams on cloud security best practices.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and recommend adjustments to security strategies as needed.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Security Architect, with a strong focus on cloud security solutions and architecture design.

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle, GCP) and their security features and controls.

  • Experience with API security, including authentication, authorization, and protection against common API vulnerabilities.

  • Familiarity with Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions and their configuration for application protection.

  • Strong understanding of security principles, encryption techniques, network security, and authentication protocols.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex security issues and recommend appropriate solutions.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
