Confidential Biotech in Massachusetts seeks a leader for the Cellular Biology function who combines deep bone marrow biology with hands-on experimental work. You will drive translational models of hematologic diseases, map kinase-driven signaling, and apply scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and CUT&RUN to understand mechanism of action.

The role blends scientific leadership with bench work, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration to shape candidate selection and IND-enabling activities as programs

Qualifications

  • PhD with extensive pharmacology/biology experience in hematology.
  • Expertise in bone marrow biology and drug discovery applications.
  • Hands-on development of cell-based models for hematologic diseases.
  • Strong background in kinase signaling and intracellular pathways.
  • Experience with functional genomic and epigenomic tools (scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&RUN).
  • Ability to design rigorous genomic experiments and interpret results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Cellular Biology function and set scientific strategy.
  • Develop translational cellular models of hematologic diseases, especially bone marrow.
  • Characterize pharmacodynamic properties of novel therapeutics.
  • Identify druggable targets and contribute to go/no-go decisions.
  • Integrate multi-omics data to generate mechanistic hypotheses.
  • Mentor scientists and build modern cellular biology capabilities.
  • Collaborate across R&D and manage CROs and external partners.
