Lumen is seeking a Senior Lead Applied AI Scientist to design, build, deploy, and continuously improve production-scale AI solutions across agents, generative AI, ML, and more. Qualifications

• Seven plus years of applied AI, ML, or data science experience including production deployments.
• Proven track record delivering AI solutions with measurable business impact.
• Deep expertise in ML, statistics, experimentation, and modern AI techniques.
• Hands-on experience with LLM, RAG, agentic, and ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize AI solutions from concept to production deployment.
• Partner with business and product teams to define success metrics and validate value.
• Develop AI systems using ML, generative AI, retrieval, and agentic architectures.
• Define evaluation frameworks and improve quality, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with Engineering to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions via MLOps/LLMOps.
• Create reusable frameworks and standards that accelerate AI adoption.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on complex AI initiatives.
