Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking an AI Engineer - Sr Lead Software Engineer in Seattle, WA, or Jersey City, NJ, to lead the design and delivery of trusted AI platforms. You will work in the AI/ML Data Platforms team, driving production-grade, secure, scalable services and agentic AI patterns across enterprise use cases.

You will mentor teams, guide architectural decisions, and implement end-to-end AI solutions on AWS with strong observability and governance.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
Strong Python engineering skills; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Experience with vector storage systems and designing memory for Agents.
Experience developing long running agents that run autonomously using tools and human in the loop.
Proven experience deploying LLM-backed services to production (APIs, microservices).
Deep MLOps experience, including CI/CD, monitoring, incident response, and model governance.
Cloud-native AI deployment experience (AWS or Azure), with cost and performance optimization.
Commitment to responsible AI practices and operational excellence.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, working across product, risk, legal, and compliance teams.
Demonstrated experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams, including human-in-the-loop auditability and secure data handling.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use and governance in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance to business and engineering teams by partnering with external teams to align priorities.
Develop secure, production-grade code and lead code reviews; improve code quality.
Drive architecture decisions influencing product design, functionality, and operations.
Serve as subject matter expert, helping teams resolve complex problems.
Evaluate and introduce leading-edge technologies with risk/benefit analysis.
Build and operate production-grade LLM applications with agentic patterns.
Design and deliver cloud-native services on AWS using containers/serverless.
Implement retrieval-augmented generation with embeddings and semantic search.
Build reliable APIs and integrations focusing on security and performance.
Promote AI-assisted engineering practices and governance across teams.
