Job summary

US Tech Solutions in Irving, TX seeks a Transport Engineer with a BS in Engineering and 5–10 years of experience to design and implement SONET and DWDM transport systems. You will create capacity plans, develop CCRs, and coordinate with real estate, data centers, and network teams to deliver scalable LD/ULH transport solutions.

The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, proficiency with Visio for complex diagrams, and the ability to manage inventory, provisioning, and vendor

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 5–10 years progressive technical experience.
• Designing SONET and DWDM transport systems and drawing complex system diagrams using Visio.
• Excellent verbal and written communications and competent computer skills.
• Ability to learn nuances of the position and teach others on the team.
• Natural ability to lead others when called upon.

Responsibilities

• Plan, forecast and capacity monitor LD/ULH transport network infrastructure and equipment.
• Produce capacity research and initiate projects based on customer requirements.
• Coordinate with real estate/central office equipment to ensure power, space and cooling.
• Develop BOM and place orders for network equipment, racks and hardware.
• Maintain and update central network inventory databases reflecting new builds and decommissions.
• Provide data analysis, reports, and presentations for transport planning stakeholders.
