Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Launch Systems Engineer to lead space systems launch planning, processing, and test in secure environments for USSF programs. The role focuses on integration of space vehicles with launch vehicles and risk mitigation.

The candidate will provide senior technical leadership, briefings, and cross-disciplinary coordination, with TS/SCI eligibility and willingness to work in SAP environments. On-site California location with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Expert in classified weapon system launch planning, processing, and execution.
• Highly knowledgeable in space system design, test, and launch vehicle integration processes.
• Expert in space vehicle engineering, design, integration, and test.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of briefing senior leadership on technical and operational matters.
• Experience in SAPF/SCIF environments preferred.
• ACAT I/II or highly classified program experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership in launch operations and space segment engineering.
• Ensure successful integration of space systems with launch vehicles and coordinate across teams.
• Provide technical guidance to achieve mission success and mitigate risks.
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, and decision-support materials.
• Represent the program office in launch planning meetings and reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers in launch and space segment engineering practices.
• Coordinate cross-organizational forums for program alignment.
• Identify technical risks and present mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
